Guildford Timber Frame - Timber and Timber Treatments

Maximising living space

Guildford Timber Frame Maximising living spaceDesigned, manufactured and erected by Guildford Timber Frame, a bespoke timber frame system has been employed for Milford Homes? development of six two and three bedroom cottage style properties in South Holmwood, Surrey. The system used for this development was designed by the company to utilise the land most effectively, as well as maximise the living space to increase the appeal of the houses. The external walls of the properties consist of an 89mm stud frame, with insulating breather foil, 9mm OSB external sheathing and an internal finish of plasterboard. In addition to the insulating breather foil, the external walls were insulated with 90mm thick mineral wool. The properties were clad using brick. The roofs were constructed using bespoke trusses which were designed to convert the roof space into a living area. The floor cassettes used in the properties were based on 220mm deep timber joists, while the internal walls feature 89mm stud frames.
