Classroom blocks at Saint Benedict Catholic School in Derby have been applied with paints from Dulux Trade. The timber-clad buildings have been treated with Weathershield Aquatech Opaque in a choice of light and dark violet/blue shades from the Weathershield Colour range, to paint the cladding and details such as handrails, balustrades, fascias and soffits.
Additionally the Window Care Repair System was employed to restore the cracked and damaged timber windows. These were then repainted using the Weathershield Exterior Gloss System. Using these two systems eliminated the need for any window replacements.
Tests run by the Paint Research Association claim that Dulux Trade's Weathershield Woodstain Advanced Protection paint developed a more flexible film over time, resulting in less peeling and cracking. The product is a medium build, semi transparent solvent-based formulation with protection from weather for up to a period of six years.
A redevelopment to provide new homes for tenants in Drumchapel has been completed with products from ICI Paints. The wooden fascias, windows and doors have been finished with Weathershield Opaque AP, maintaining the wood's natural beauty for at least 6 years, the company claims. Refurbishing perimeter fences, Landscape Shades from Cuprinol Trade provided a high opacity satin finish that dried quickly.
Weathershield Aquatech Opaque from Dulux Tradeh as been used to ensure buildings and features retain their finish for longer at Crealy Adventure Theme Park in Cornwall. Some 1,000 litres of the water-based product have been used around the park, preserving the timber and preventing peeling, flaking and blistering.
