Structural sealing solutions for development at Ascot Racecourse have been provided by a watertight expansion jointing system from illbruck Sealant Systems. Robust Compriband Superspan jointing profiles provided a solution for the movement joints established between the concrete sections on parts of the grandstand. The product has an interlocking design comprising of aluminium side plates and pre-drilled mounting flanges, with a flexible central sealing insert and lateral sealing sheets. A stainless steel capping section protects the components and is torqued down to achieve watertightness. In some areas of the site, sections have been combined with the Compriband Jointspan FR material for fire resistance.
