Recognising the increased demand for timber stairs for apartment buildings,
Jeld Wen has invested in new equipment for the manufacture of common flights.
The company's dedicated stairs factory in Melton Mowbray has recently been kitted out with a quarter of a million pound's worth of bespoke equipment to produce the flights, all of which have been accredited to meet British Standards.
John Seragusa, general manager said: 'We are really excited. We now have the dedicated facilities and additional capacity to produce over 50 flights a week, and our dedicated teams can ensure delivery within 3-4 weeks. Our tailored service means we can respond to both small or large orders within short time frames.'
Members of the British Woodworking Federation and its TWA Scheme will benefit from a new UKAS-accredited testing centre which has been opened by Jeld-Wen.
In partnership with Bodycote warringtonfire, the new facility will provide environmental and mechanical testing for UK door and window manufacturers. The test laboratory will offer a series of British and European Standard testing at preferential rates to members.
Supplying timber doors and windows in the UK, Jeldwen is strengthening its collection by launching a brand new range of doors in the Shaker style.
Featuring in Travis Perkins and Keyline's latest range of products, the clean and simple lines of Shaker furniture and architecture have inspired the creation of the Shaker range.
Available in either pre-finished or unfinished models, these internal doors are manufactured in veneer-faced hardwood and also have certified FSC approval. Doors in the range feature either one or four panel options, and are available in either pre-glazed or solid versions.
The series presents a straightforward design option for home building and refurbishing in the Shaker style. The doors can also be easily adapted to a paired French door with the use of a conversion frame kit.
