Following rigorous testing of its timber windows range Jeld-Wen says it now has 'extensive test evidence' to support acoustic performance for more than 50 of its timber window products.
Tony Pell, the company's product manager, said: "Acoustics is becoming increasingly important as part of planning requirements (PPG3) and Building Regulations. The fact that we have test evidence to support our Stomsure, Vertical Sliding Sash and Hi-profile Combi ranges gives specifiers greater confidence that our windows meet with requirements for sound reduction. A high performance building with good noise control built in is a more attractive proposition and is now a major selling point in a property."
The construction of the company's acoustic window consist of a double glazed unit with two glass panes, one laminated with a specialised PVB layer.
