Helping Swindon Health Centre meet the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA), a new tubular handrail system from Kee Klamp, created using the company's 500 Series, has been installed.
Fittings from the range have been used to construct a new guard and handrailing structure beside a crossing point for disabled visitors at the main entrance to the centre.
The installation fulfils Part M of the Building Regulations which recommends an outside diameter tube size of between 40mm and 45mm. It is designed to have a handrail with size 7 tube. Fittings in the series can be powder coated and provided in RAL colours to meet the visibility and the 'not cold to the touch' requirements of the DDA.
