
Smoke, heat and CO alarm maker Kiddie Fyrnetics has launched a system to solve the problem of alerting deaf people to fire in their homes. The solution will be of interest to social housing providers.Almost 15% of the population have some degree of deafness and two million people wear hearing aids. To alert them to fires in the home the simple 'plug and go' system is based around the company's popular interconnectable mains-powered hard wired smoke and heat alarms. The system is is supplied with a Kidde relay pattress, onto which a mains-powered smoke or heat alarm can be fitted.
