The 13000m? project included the installation of some 500 doors and doorsets, together wtih 77 glazed screens, supplied by the company. The design concept interweaves 'villages' along a circulation route running from the public frontage into the centre of the site. Bristol City Academy is one of the first schools constructed to the requirements of 'Building Bulletin 93', which is linked to Part E of the Building Regulations. Sound reduction levels between circulation spaces and teaching areas was achieved with the company's doorsets. Within the music department the issue was particularly important, with communicating doors between rooms being a complex issue.

Some 900 LS Leaderflush Shapland doorsets in a variety of styles from have been incorporated into the Wales Millennium Centre on Cardiff Bay?s waterfront. In the centre?s main auditorium, acoustic doorsets are playing a major role in controlling unwanted sound from other sources. The company?s doorsets are tested for sound reduction levels as high as 49 Rw dB, whilst maintaining the same door leaf thickness across the range. One of the NHS?s new diagnostic and treatment centres - designed to handle routine hospital surgery without disruption from emergency cases - incorporates some 750 doorsets in a variety of styles from LS Leaderflush Shapland. The new Swindon Treatment Centre was designed by BDP, Bristol, and includes five operating theatres, consultation rooms and 108 beds with 20 for private patients. Internal doorsets needed to satisfy a range of technical and performance demands including BWF certifire accredited 30 and 60-minute fire resistance and ?Severe Duty? durability. Concealed closers were incorporated in a number of fire doors. Particularly suited to healthcare and educational buildings, the Careview adjustable blind system has been launched by LS Leaderflush Shapland. Designed to be integrated within vision panels of the Plasform range, the blinds can be operated by a magnetic control knob that can be removed leaving no accessible working parts. Both vertical and horizontal operation pleated blinds are available, aswell as fine slatted Venetian blinds. All blind styles can be used with the Plasform Duoglaze vision panel system.
