A series of partnership schemes, aimed at developing integrated and coherent primary and community based healthcare facilities throughout Leeds and Barnsley, have selected thousands of square metres of Polyflor's Mystique PUR heavy duty sheet vinyl and Polysafe Vogue Ultra sheet vinyl safety flooring. The Local Improvement Finance Trusts opted for the Mystique PUR at Armley Moor Health Centre in Leeds. The product, which was supplied in various colours, was used in the reception area, treatment rooms, operating theatres and corridors. Polysafe Vogue Ultra was installed in the bathrooms and toilets. Independent tests revealed both products 'inhibit the growth of MRSA' according to the manufacturer. However, Polyflor added effective cleaning regimes were the best defence.

Brightly-coloured Roald Dahl characters, snakes and ladders boards, and alphabets, along with department signage, decorate the corridors of a new-build Neuroscience unit at Liverpool's world famous Alder Hey Hospital. Polyflor's Expression Design Service used computerised water jets to produce shapes and styles inset into cherry timber effect sheet vinyl flooring. Colouring for the artwork was selected from the Polyflor XL PU range of heavy duty vinyls. The wood vinyl flooring came from the company's Forest FX range. One of the key features of the range is sophisticated and realistic designs in a selection of shades and textures.

Playful dolphins are providing a colourful feature to the corridor floors at the new neo-natal unit at the Royal Albert Edward Infirmary in Wigan, Lancashire. Created via the Polyflor Expressions design service, the motifs incorporate a variety of colours from the company?s ?lower maintenance? Mistique PUR, Prestige PUR and Polysafe Astral heavy duty sheet vinyl floorcoverings. Non-directionally patterned Polyflor Mistique PUR and Prestige PUR feature a polyurethane reinforcement which, combined with a closed surface finish, facilitates a ?polish free? maintenance regime for the lifetime of the floorcovering. The Astral safety flooring features the Supratec system, a soil releasing polymer which makes the flooring up to 60 cheaper to clean and ensures that even light shades will retain their original appearance and will not yellow even after years of wear, Polyflor claims.

Featured in a new ward at Sheffield Children?s Hospital is a combination of wood effect luxury vinyl tiles and heavy duty sheet vinyl safety floorcoverings from Polyflor. The flooring uses a variety of shades from the Polysafe Astral and Standard safety floorings alongside wood effect tiles from the Expona art and design collection.
