The DM Academy in West Yorkshire has had Impact sound reducing sheet vinyl flooring from Polyflor installed in its dance studio.
The Polyfloor Gallery FX Acoustic was fitted in the studio by Leeds-based flooring contractor Fresco Interiors.
Polyflor said earlier this month that the Gallery FX was developed in response to the growing demand for 'effective and attractive' solutions to noise pollution in buildings.
Its Gallery FX Acoustic is said to offer a choice of 14 wood, stone and mottled granite effect and features a 0.5mm wearlayer.
The Gallery FX is part of Polyflor's new Acoustic Flooring Solutions collection. The range includes Forest FC Acoustic and Acousticfoam.
The latter is described as a 2mm closed cell foam backing sheet with can be used in combination with a number of Polyflor heavy duty and safety vinyls to achieve an imapct sound resistance of 18dB.
Both Gallery FX Acoustic and Forest FX Acoustic provide a high impact sound insulation of 19dB.
Polyflor says that its Acoustic Collection products are manufactured in accordance
Curves of brightly coloured sheet vinyl from Polyflor have been employed to mirror the shapes and shades of suspended ceiling panels in the new Learning Cafe at London's City and Islington College.
Yellow, green and beige colourways from the Polyflor XL PU range and a terracotta from the 2000 PUR range were specified. They meet the performance requirements of EN 649 and are tested to fire safety standard EN 13501-1.
A solution for noise pollution in buildings has been provided by Polyflor with two new heterogenous sheet vinyl ranges from the company, which alongside its Acoustifoam system, creates the Polyflor Acoustic Flooring Solution.
The new Polyflor Gallery FX Acoustic ? in 14 wood, stone and mottled granite effects, and featuring a 0.5mm wear layer ? is suitable for residential areas such as aged-care, social housing, student accommodation, and heavily trafficked areas in both schools and hospitals.
Polyflor Forest FX Acoustic ? comprising 10 popular wood effects from the company's existing Forest FX range and with a 0.65mm wear layer ? has been developed for use in very heavy commercial installations including schools and hospitals. Both ranges provide high impact sound insulation of 19dB.
Developed for major commercial projects, the new Bevel Line Project collection of vinyl tiles from Polyflor features bevel edge planks in eight standard wood effects.
The collection is available in 101.6mm by 914.4mm plank sizes, bevelled on all four edges, in timber effects including oak, beech, maple and mahogony.
The 2.5mm gauge planks feature a 0.7mm wear layer with a polyurethane surface treatment to assist on-going maintenance.
