RATIONEL WINDOWS & DOORS - the natural choice
With more than 50 years of experience in developing and marketing windows and external doors, Rationel is recognised as one of the leading manufacturers in Scandinavia.
Rationel uses pinewood exclusively from the slow-growing and non fertilized forests of northern Scandinavia.
Furthermore, Rationel is affiliated to the Danish Body for Certification of Windows (DVC) under the Danish Technological Institute. Our DVC-certified products comply with all current technical regulations, are quality-assured according to ISO 9001, meaning that with proper maintenance they endure easily for many years, even in coastal areas.
Rationel offers you a selection of products in two sections.
DOMUS is a range of modern, high-performance windows and doors made from natural pinewood and whose external surfaces consist of minimum 60 per cent heartwood.
ALDUS is also in timber with an external aluminium cladding to protect the timber which gives a low maintenance exterior. This aluminium cladding does also add another look to our products.
With both its Domus and Aldus collections manufactured from carefully selected heartwood from northern Scandinavian pine trees, Rationel Windows believe its windows and doors are an environmental choice.
The pine trees grow within the artic circle which means that, as the trees grow slowly in these conditions, the cell structure of the timber is tighter than that of trees grown in warmer climates. This, the company believes, gives the timber a higher resistance to splitting, warping and bowing.
The company also selects water-borne stains and paints which, as well as being more environmentally friendly than solvent-based options, are chosen for durability, ensuring maintenance cycles are kept to a minimum.
Primarily used in housing applications, the Aldus range features aluminium cladding on the external face. The powder coated cladding protects the outside faces, further reducing maintenance.
