As part of a project lasting two years, Rockfon's ceiling tiles were installed throughout a new super hospital boasting a floor area of 1 million? feet. The PFI facility, known as Queen's Hospital in Romford, has the company's MediaCare & MediCare Ultra tiles, installed by Clark & Fenn Skanska. The tiles, combine 'attractive surfaces finishes with good acoustic performance according to the manufacturer. Such benefits are crucial in the healthcare environment where certain areas have to be under strict sound control. As many as 70km? of tiles were used on the wards, throughout the corridors, and in consulting rooms. The tiles offer protection against micro-organisms, the bane of many medical facilities in today's climate. Rockforn also specified plasterboard and precast plaster/GRP features
