Hardware from Securestyle is being put to the test by 450 students living in purpose built Gill Street halls of residence, owned by Nottingham University. With rooms on the ground floor at street level, as well as rooms on four other floors, the hardware needed to be secure and safe. Each room has at least one large top hung window that has been fitted with the Defender hinge, with a restrictive device on the upper floors, and the Virage locking cockspur handle in silver to match the aluminium windows. The Defender hinge is available in both ferritic and austenitic stainless steel, and has an asymmetric location system for weather sealing.
