As part of its commitment to meeting the requirements of the Decent Homes standard, Eastbourne Homes has specified Securistyle's full set of austenitic window hardware.
The company's hinges, handles and its new Defender lock were chosen. Under its Partnership Pledge initiative, the company has worked with Radway, providing technical support on the correct choice and application of window hardware.
All of the company's products are manufactured from austenitic stainless steel for resistance to corrosion, which is an important property for the climate of coastal towns.
The project involved the replacement of existing timber and Crittal steel windows with pvc-u casement windows. Approximately 240 homes will benefit from the scheme.
Refurbishment by The Gateshead Housing Company has included the replacement of timber windows with double glazed upvc units including window hinges from Securistyle.
The ?232 million programme will see 23000 homes in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear, refurbished to meet the standards determined by the Government's Decent Homes Standard within four years.
Fitted and installed by six window fabricators, the specification included Defender Standard hinges and the Defender Restricted friction hinges for child safety plus ancillary security devices. All of the products were manufactured from austenitic stainless steel for resistance to corrosion.
Window replacement by Leeds East Homes has utilised products from Securistyle to provide fire egress and corrosion reistance. The scheme includes the installation of Defender hinges and Virage handles along with Defender egress hinges and green button Virage handles. When egress products are combined windows open to 90˚.
