Block Paving Fix, a ready-to-use grout that is claimed to provide an even quicker professional finish for all types of block paving, is the latest addition to Sika's product range.
Said to be easy to apply the grout is simply sweeped into the joint and sealed by soaking with water.
The mix dries to a hard cured, durable finish that resists weed growth and protects the surface from moisture.
Packaged in 15kg bucket, each container provides coverage for around 35mē of paving. Unlike cement the product also enables block paving to be re-used if required.
The recently launched product sits alongside the company's already successful Pave Fix, a ready-to-use, self setting jointing compound aimed specifically at paving and blocks with joints from 5mm width upwards.
Specification for a storage facility for Warrington Property Maintenance at Bathgate called for the combined use and close control of concrete admixture and other interacting materials, including Sika super plasticizer, Sikament 700, Fibreshield dry shake and the addition of Baekert steel fibres.
Sikament 700 was used for the control of water content to obtain the required workability and to influence setting and bleed characteristics for the addition of dry shake.
The admixture and steel fibres were added on site, the latter at 25kg per cubic metre to enhance the wear resistance of the floor. The dry shake was used to suppress the fibres as well as to allow the floor to be polished.
To withstand heavy traffic in a warehouse at Morrisons, Sika has provided its dry shake system Sikafloor Syntop. As a combination of cement powder, admixtures and synthetic mineral aggregates, it fuses with the wet surface of new concrete slabs to form a tough top layer.
Aircraft hangars at RAF fighter stations have had a specially designed flooring system from Sika-Armorex installed that freely conducts electricity. The Sikafloor 381 system incorporates silica carbide which achieves a conductive surface, protecting maintenance staff working on aircraft which return to the hangar loaded with static electricity.
Lymm Water Tower, the ambitious conversion of the stone water tower in Lymm, Cheshire features a flooring system from Sika. Sikafloor 300, a permanently elastic, liquid applied polurethane system, has been installed throughout the principle living areas. It is designed to be uv stable, feel soft underfoot and provide a durable living surface.
