Specialist Glass Products shortlisted at the Insider Made in Yorkshire Awards
An established leader in glass manufacturing, Specialist Glass Products has been shortlisted for Manufacturer of the Year (under 25m) at the Insider Made in Yorkshire Awards.
The Yorkshire family-run business has invested over £6 million in the past 48 months to extend the firms manufacturing area from 30,000 sq. ft. to 72,000 sq. ft. and equip the new facility with the latest state-of-the-art machinery, currently allowing them to process, cut, toughen, bend and laminate glass up to 6000mm x 3210mm.
Specialist Glass Products can be found in many installations at prestigious locations such as the Shard, O2 Arena, the Gherkin (30 St Mary Axe), Hendricks’s Gin Palace, King’s Cross Station, Cambridge University, Sage Gateshead and Wembley Stadium.
The firm also used its skills and capabilities to create glass “sneeze screens”, supporting businesses, retail and healthcare organisations with health and safety measures to protect staff and customers from the spread of COVID when returning to work safely.
With tremendous growth and development over the past 12-months, the specialist glass manufacturer is among seven companies shortlisted for the Manufacturer of the Year (under 25m) Award.
The award is for the Yorkshire manufacturing company, with a reported turnover of less than £25m, which has demonstrated excellence and made an outstanding contribution to the manufacturing sector in the region.
Andrew Taylor, our Managing Director, commented: “We are delighted to be recognised in the Manufacturer of the Year (under 25m) category. We’re so pleased that the judges have recognised our hard work and contribution to the region. We have worked hard to retain and employ further employees during the pandemic whilst investing in state-of-the-art machinery to provide the highest quality products for our customers.
“We can’t wait to celebrate at the awards ceremony among the top manufacturers in Yorkshire!”
The awards ceremony will take place on Thursday 29th July at the Hilton Hotel, Leeds.
