Newland Homes has announced its latest acquisition in Wiltshire

Newland Homes has announced its latest acquisition; a five-acre site in Semington, Wiltshire, with detailed planning permission for 24 new homes.

The development comprises a mix of four and five bedroom detached homes and three bedroom bungalows.  The low density, zero carbon homes will be constructed using the latest technology to help homeowners shrink their carbon footprint.   Air source heat pumps will heat homes in lieu of gas boilers and each home will benefit from a significant array of high-performance solar panels to generate electricity.  In addition, properties have been orientated to maximise solar gain and will be constructed with high levels of insulation to deliver significant energy savings.

There will also be seven affordable homes and 14 allotments as part of the development.  Car charging points for hybrid or fully electric cars will also be pre-wired within the new homes at Semington, for customers to fit and take advantage of the Government grant.

Simon Richardson, Associate Land Director for Newland Homes, commented: “This is an outstanding site in a pretty Wiltshire village centred around the canal, and our scheme has been designed to reflect the rural setting whilst providing the next generation of environmentally-friendly homes.  It is another first-rate project we are excited to be bringing forward.”

Newland Homes has a long association with Wiltshire.  The company has been the recipient of the Trowbridge Town Enhancement Award for an unprecedented three times for its work in transforming and enhancing the local community.  The company’s latest development in the county, Newland Place on Bradley Road in Trowbridge, was commended by Wiltshire Council’s Urban Designer, who recognised Newland Homes’ efforts to ‘design an exemplar scheme’ for the town.

Newland Homes, based in Gloucester, has been responsible for over 130 developments across the South West and more than 3,400 homes since its inception in 1991.  Just last year it completed the sale of 141 homes; 112 on the open market and 29 affordable properties.

It is anticipated that work will commence on site at Semington in 2022.  Andrew Martin Land & Property Consultancy acted as selling agents for the site.
