IDS expands Malmo Rigid luxury vinyl flooring potential with successful underfloor heating tests
IDS’s luxury vinyl flooring, Malmo Rigid has been successfully tested by Exova BM TRADA for its use with a water piped underfloor heating (UFH) system, paving the way for new opportunities for its use in both domestic and commercial settings.
The tiles and plank formats of Malmo Rigid were performance tested over the radiant heat UFH system of water pipes encased in concrete screed with no significant movement or change in visual effects.
Says Tony Locke, IDS’s technical services manager, said: “The UK underfloor heating market is increasing year on year, and luxury vinyl tile is one of the fastest growing products in our portfolio and we wanted to demonstrate that the two are compatible because that’s what the market wants. We are delighted with the performance results from Exova, BM Trada because it gives customers the confidence to install our products over a water-based UFH. It opens up a lot more business opportunities for retailers and installers.”
Malmo Rigid flooring features advanced Välinge 5G installation system, making it fast and easy to fit, and has a built-in 1mm underlay. It comes with 17 fashionable tile and woodgrain designs and has a warranty of up to 15 years for residential applications and seven years for commercial applications.
Malmo Rigid, and the Malmo stickdown range, are available in 24-48 hour delivery from all IDS branches nationwide.
