Plans for 337 new homes at Halsnead Garden Village
A full planning application for Taylor Wimpey’s scheme of 337 new homes to be built at Halsnead Garden Village, Whiston, has been registered by Knowsley Council, with planning and EIA services provided by Pegasus Group.
The 40-acre development, named Fox Wood Garden Village, comprises a mix of three and four-bedroom properties centred around three acres of mature woodland. The proposals have been designed to uphold garden village principles and conform with the Council’s masterplan for the wider site, which is set to deliver up to 1,600 homes, employment land and a country park, and is one of the first 14 schemes to be awarded Garden Village status by the Government.
The development will also make a contribution of £2.3m to local services and infrastructure, will support local construction jobs, while new residents will contribute an estimated £8.8m per year to the local economy.
Pegasus Group Director Graham Lamb said: “This development will provide much needed family homes for Whiston, in an attractive neighbourhood which fully aligns with Knowsley Council’s vision for the wider Garden Village. It also provides an economic boost and show of confidence in the area at a time of huge uncertainty in the wider economy.”
The planning application will be considered by Knowsley Council with a decision due in November.
