Crittall steelwork to take centre stage at historic Ibex House

Crittall Windows has secured a major contract to supply 2,600 individual window frames for the transformation of London’s Grade II-listed Ibex House into a landmark hotel.

Crittall’s W20 windows will feature throughout the historic Art Deco building, including large ribbon windows with curved elements and horizontal glazing bars designed to complement the distinctive character of the original architecture.

Located on The Minories in the City of London, Ibex House is being transformed from a vacant office building into a 382-room hotel by developer and operator Dominus, in partnership with alternative investment manager Cheyne Capital. Studio Moren is leading the design, with the scheme retaining 100% of the building’s substructure and 90% of its superstructure.

The ambitious project will also introduce more than 50,000 sq ft of public space, including a conference centre and ballroom, alongside a new café and the restoration of the historic Peacock pub.

For Crittall, the project is a major commission that brings its steel window expertise to a building where the preservation of architectural character is central to its transformation.

The completed hotel is expected to open in late 2028 and will be operated by Dominus. The development is also set to create more than 160 jobs, with a hospitality academy providing training and employment pathways for local people.
