Rehau to exhibit range of solutions at Tall Buildings Conference

Polymer pipework specialist Rehau will be exhibiting a range of products at this year’s Tall Buildings Conference, taking place on April 30 in London.

The conference is set to explore the unique challenges that tall buildings present, from design through to construction, attracting developers, local authorities, architects, investors and planners. The event will also showcase innovative design and building technology in the UK high-rise sector and offer attendees the chance to discuss emerging trends.

This year, Rehau will be exhibiting a range of its products that are perfectly engineered for tall buildings, including the Rautitan and Raupiano pipework products and the new Smart Plumbing Manifold.

An ideal alternative solution for large multi-occupancy or commercial projects to traditional materials, according to Rehau, is the flexible PE-Xa Rautitan heating and plumbing system, which is said to deliver on durability, corrosion-resistance and ease of installation. It is fully WRAS certified as it is hygienic for drinking water and its smooth surface is said to prevent deposits forming while cavity-free impermeable joints eliminate the risk of microbial contamination. Rautitan is also suitable for radiator connections and can be used for installations through the floor, skirting board or wall.

Another product said to be suited to the high-rise occupancy market is the Rehau Smart Link Plumbing Manifold. The modular design is said to make it a flexible product, while the use of PPSU ball valves reportedly guarantees a hardwearing, reliable manifold that installers can rely on.

According to Rehau, the ‘ease of installation’ makes it a convenient and cost-effective solution for managing water distribution. It has reportedly been tried, tested and proven in a number of large-scale projects, especially in the high-rise occupancy market where utility pods and HIUs are commonplace. The product has been shortlisted in the Offsite Awards Product Innovation of the Year category.

Rehau will also be featuring its new acoustic soil and waste solution – Raupiano, which launched in September 2018. The Raupiano product offers 17dB acoustic performance, 120-minute fire protection, high chemical-resistance and a 2 bar rated push-fit jointing system. The acoustic performance of the product is said to be due to its multi-layer composition as well as the design of its bends and brackets, with the bends having thickened walls in sound critical areas, while branch components feature hydraulically optimised inner contours to minimise flow noise. All these factors combine to make Raupiano an ideal selection for a high-rise or multi-occupancy buildings.
