Wall solution supplier links up with Staffordshire hospice

RCM has announced a new charity partnership with the Douglas Macmillan hospice.

The hospice cares for adults with palliative or end of life diagnosis across North Staffordshire. They provide care and support free of charge, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

The Dougie Mac, as it is best known to its friends, helps people with cancer and non-cancer life limiting illnesses.

Celebrating over 40 years, the Dougie Mac hospice was established in 1973 as a 28-bed care facility serving primarily the North Staffordshire area.

The local charity is the only adult hospice within North Staffordshire caring for local people with life limiting illnesses. The volunteers provide a warm, friendly and peaceful environment both, at the hospice or in a family’s home.

The DougieMac does rely heavily on donations from the local community and they need to raise in excess of 75% of their running costs (currently at just under £12 million a year) from voluntary donations.

RCM are committed to supporting this excellent charity and will be holding a Corporate Charitable Golf Day in September to raise much needed funds.

Alex Ward-Brassington, fundraising manager at Douglas Mcmillan said: “Douglas Macmillan Hospice was delighted to learn that the team at RCM are hosting a Golf Day in support of the hospice. We rely on the support of local individuals and businesses to help the hospice continue its work not only at the hospice here in Blurton, but throughout North Staffordshire. Thank you to all at RCM for organising and hosting this event, we are truly grateful for their hard work and support.”

Amy Baker, marketing manager at RCM said: “We are very excited to enter into the charitable partnership with Dougie Mac. It allows RCM to support the local community and give something back to the people of North Staffordshire, RCM’s headquarters for many years. Having seen first-hand the care and support provided by this wonderful charity, they are a perfect fit for RCM. Our customers have agreed to sponsor individual holes at our Corporate Golf Day and we hope this will raise a good amount of much needed money on the day.”
