The Government's recommendation that homeowners should not have to apply for planning permission to install microgeneration devices on their property has been welcomed by Baxi. The company's renewables product manager Andy Dabin said he was convinced that relaxing planning permission will encourage people to explore the options available to them. 'It is the duty of manufacturers such as ourselves to provide up-to-date information on the latest building regulations, government initiatives and available technology,' he said. Baxi offers a range of renewable energy products that can be retrofitted or incorporated into new build developments.

With the launch of the new Homeflame range from Valor, Baxi Fires Division is offering gas fires which meet Part L regulations for a reduction in CO? emissions. Energy efficiency is offered from the chimney-installed inset fire, and it comes in two styles; the contemporary Harmony, which has a four-sided fascia in either black or silver, and the traditional Dream, which has a solid cast iron frame and fire front in either gold-plate, chrome-effect or black. The Homeflame fuelbed is a three-piece construction ensuring simplicity and accuracy of fit and the product has been designed with ease of installation in mind.

Designed to provide housing developers with flexibility in specifying a fire, Baxi Fires Division has launched a new range of gas and electric fires. A colelction of contemporary and traditional designs are available in brass, black or chrome finishes with differing trims, firefronts and fuelbeds in the Blenheim, Seattle, Sonnet and Camden ranges. Balanced flue, powerflue and electric options are offered in a choice of deep and shallow bed inset gas models for a variety of installations.

Designed to be a complete solar thermal package for domestic hot water, Baxi has introduced Solarflo. The system comprises flat plate solar collector panels and twin coil stainless steel hot water storage cylinders, coupled with all controls and roof fittings required for complete system installation. The panels can provide almost all of a home's hot water in the summer and up to 60% all year round.

Businesses can specify boilers from Baxi Commercial to reduce energy bills. The Enhanced Capital Allowance scheme enables businesses to write off the cost of investments in energy saving technologies specified on the Energy Technology List against their taxable profits. Due to be sold alongside its existing brand Potterton Commercial, Baxi Heating's commercial division has introduced Baxi Commercial. Baxi Commercial will offer two stainless steel condensing boilers, a wall hung model and a floor standing product. The brand's commercial boiler operations will continue to offer its cast aluminium condensing products including the Paramount and Eurocondense plus, and traditional atmospheric products through the existing Potterton Commercial brand.
