Enhancing wireless lighting control possibilities

The possibilities of wireless lighting control have be enhanced with the launch of astral from mk electric.
A 'MESH'-based system, astral uses proven radio frequency (RF) technology to control lighting applications. MESH networking is a method of routing data between 'nodes' (devices) using RF communications, which does not require line-of-sight to successfully send operating instructions. Instead all mains powered devices are linked together providing multiple routes for the RF signals to travel.
Astral devices have the capability of controlling lighting in one room, but also lighting throughout the entire property.

Underpinning Microsoft

Microsoft Scotland has recently seen the completion of the interior of its Customer Centre at the Waverley Gate Building in Edinburgh. Underlying the building are underfloor distribution system products from MK Electric's Ackermann range.
The project, which demonstrated screed substrate in a raised floor application, deployed the company's new Onix PLus Outlet Lids and Ackermann Slab Boxes.
Onix Plus provides innovative solutions to hard floor power and data distribution requirements in screed floors with coverings such as laminates, wood, stone and marble. The design offers load bearing performance and durability; and the lids provide wet wash solutions.
Ackermann Slab Boxes provide the same services as a floorbox, and are said to deliver a flexible, cost-effective raised floor solution. According to the firm, both the Ackermann and Onix Plus deliver "significant" advantages in managing data and power in underfloor situations.
